NAPLES HIGH SCHOOL 2014 PROM

The 2014 NHS Prom will be held at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club (851 Gulf Shore Blvd North, Naples 34102) on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 from 7 PM – 11 PM. For more information click HERE. NHS Students wanting to bring non-NHS students to Prom, please click HERE for the application form. Application forms are due by May 9th.

NHS 2014 WINGED FOOT SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD NOMINEE

NHS Scholar-Athlete, Garrison KalvinCongratulations are in order for Naples High School senior Garrison Kalvin. Garrison was recently selected as Naples High School’s 2014 Winged Foot Scholar-Athlete nominee. Garrison has earned a total of nine varsity letters in cross country, soccer and track. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the NHS Technical Student Association (First Robotics) KidsCAN, Junior State of America, and Key Club. Garrison will also earn a Laureate Diploma.  

The WINGED FOOT SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD is designed to recognize the top scholar athletes in Collier County’s high schools, public and private. The program pays tribute to eleven “Winged Foot Nominees” consisting of one senior scholar-athlete representing each high school. 

All nominees and their parents are invited to a very special awards ceremony in May at The Ritz Carlton Tiburon Resort. Each nominee receives a $5,000 scholarship and the overall Winged Foot Scholar-Athlete award winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship.

NHS STUDENT-ATHLETE SELECTED FOR 2014 FHSAA ACADEMIC ALL-STATE TEAM

NHS Student-Athlete, Brooke FaulknerCongratulations are in order for Naples High School senior Brooke Faulkner who has been selected to the Florida High School Athletic Association’s prestigious Academic All-State Team. Nominations are based on a student’s academic and athletic achievements as well as participation in non-classroom school activities, community involvement and employment. Only twelve graduating senior girls from around the state of Florida are selected to the Academic All-State Team. Brooke will receive a $1,000 monetary award as well as a commemorative medallion from the FHSAA. In addition, she is now in the running for the FHSAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

Brooke, along with the other  members of the  FHSAA Academic All-State Team (twelve boys and twelve girls) will be honored at the FHSAA State of Florida Academic All-State Awards Banquet which will take place in Gainesville on June 9, 2014.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION

Attention All NHS Male Students!  If you are a male ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday.  It’s the LAW.  You may go online (www.sss.gov.gov) or register at any post office and you do not need a social security number.  Failure to register means you may be denied benefits such as scholarships and other awards. NAVIANCE

Naviance is the method by which NHS submits transcripts and honor requests, informs seniors/juniors about upcoming college visits and scholarship applications.  You must have a password.  Please come down to the Counseling Office during lunch and after school to get this information and to learn more about Naviance.
